Starting out as a modest workwear boot, Dr. Martens boots have evolved to become one of the most popular and stylish pairs in the game.
The brand is known for creating durable, stylish and timeless boots that have their own individual style but share a united spirit.
Dr. Martens roots can be traced back to 1945, when Dr. Klaus Maertens created a boot with a unique air-cushioned sole instead of the classic hardened leather sole.
Later picked up by the Griggs family in Northamptonshire in 1960, the boot was altered and reborn as the iconic, eight holed 1460. The rest is history.
Fast-forward over 70 years, and DMs remain one of the most popular boots about. What began as a worker’s boot has now transformed into a fashion icon.
From British working-class backgrounds to festival culture, Dr. Martens boots have been adopted by different groups over the years.
With the OG 1460 boots still being worn, Dr. Martens has expanded its collection with more silhouettes joining its iconic collection.
They still have all the signature details from the OG boots like the classic yellow welt stitching and unique outsole pattern, keeping true to the brand’s origins and history.
