How to Lace Jordans?
However you style your Jordans is up to you, it’s a personal choice. There isn’t a specific way you should lace each pair, but based on the most famous Jordans – the AJ1s – each pair is determined by which variant of silhouette you want to rep. A pair of Lows have seven eyelets, Mids have eight and Highs have nine.
The next choice is how tight or loose you want to secure them. If you fasten the laces tight, the common theory is that they’ll crease your Jordans faster. If you want them looser on your feet, like most of the Sneakerhead community do, they’ll feel less secure.
Another thing to consider that’s highly debated is whether to go or over or under the eyelets. Once again this is personal choice, but the consensus is to lace them over for a cleaner, more classic look.
Finally, do you tie the knot? If you’re using your Jordans for the basketball court then a traditional knot will keep them tight, while a looser knot is good for everyday wear.
How Many Jordans Are There?
Air Jordans are the longest continuous signature sneaker line ever. While the earlier editions are cemented in sporting DNA, the newer models are taking the street footwear game by storm.
The first Jordan, and arguably the most famous, is the Air Jordan 1. Originally released in 1985/86 as the vehicle to drive Michael Jordan forwards for the Chicago Bulls with team-inspired colour blocking and the iconic Jumpman crest.
With every season that followed (including MJ’s brief retirement to pursue baseball) a new Air Jordan released, hallmarked by the AJ 11 on Michael’s return to the NBA.
The Air Jordan line adopted year numbers after the 23 to mark its annual succession in 2009, before going back to this system with the Air Jordan 28 in 2013.
Now on the Air Jordan 39, we can’t see this lineage slowing down any time soon.
