Borussia Dortmund

Founded in 1909, Borussia Dortmund have grown to become not just a football club renowned in Germany, but across the world. They are famous for a number of reasons, from their striking yellow colours, attacking football, but probably most notably, their passionate fans.

Their home stadium, the iconic Signal Iduna Park, has a capacity of over 80,000, so you can imagine the noise that’s generated is up there with the loudest in the Bundesliga. Testament to the following that Die Schwarzgelben has, Dortmund’s ‘Yellow Wall’ is the largest stand of any ground in Europe. With 25,000 raucous supporters cheering their side on, the Südtribüne (South Bank) has captured the imaginations of football lovers.

From the fans to footballers, some of the best footballers in the sport have pulled on the Borussia Dortmund Shirt. The legendary Roman Weidenfeller was a man-mountain between the sticks and Neven Subotić formed a solid partnership with Mats Hummels.

Though seeking pastures new, Marco Reus will go down in history as a club great, much like fellow attacker Jakub Błaszczykowski. It’s a club that’s famed for helping developing talent, too, both Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland credit the Dortmund’s staff for their meteoric rises. The future’s bright, the exciting Karim Adeyemi and Youssoufa Moukoko now don the BvB shirt – and it looks as though the sky’s the limit.
